Profile

Since 2013, Christian is the Executive Creative Director and Creative Lead of Razorfish, Sydney – Australia‘s leading full-service digital creative agency specialized in Digital, Social Media, Mobile, UX and Design, working for clients like Samsung, eBay, Qantas, the New South Wales Government, Australia Post and the Museum of Contemporary Art, helping and consulting them in the field of digital transformation.

Next to his work at Razorfish, Christian founded the citizen engagement platform #GetTheMayor, a worlds-first online platform that lets all citizens and friends of the city of Heidelberg get involved in helping shape the future of their city.

Prior moving to Sydney, Australia, Christian was working for over three and a half years as a Creative Director at R/GA, New York, inventors of Nike+ and one of the worlds leading advertising agencies specialized in Digital, Mobile, Technology and Design.
Next to inventing platforms and campaigns for brands like Google, MasterCard, Nike and Mc Cormick, he was acting as lead Creative Director of A&E‘s hit TV Show ‚Duck Dynasty‘, which under his supervision became A&E‘s most popular show and the most-watched reality show on cable end March 2013.

He is also the Co-Founder of „Pay with a Tweet.com“, the first social media payment system, where people pay with the value of their social network, winner of the Cyber Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions Festival 2011, which got acquired by Hanse Ventures in 2013 and turned into a standalone company, where Christian still owns a piece of equity.

Christian is Co-Author of the book „Oh My God What Happened And What Should I Do“ – a book helping traditional advertising and marketing people to master the step into the digital era, that sold more than 300.000 copies (on Amazon and via „Pay with a Tweet“) – and with having won more than 210 awards of nearly every industry award show he is named „One of AdWeek’s World-Wide Top 10 Creative Minds in Digital“ in 2011.

Next to that, Christian and a group of befriended creatives won one of the first MTV OMusic Awards given out in 2012 for their Social Media side-project called „Track Me“ – a campaign helping the HipHop duo „Riot in Paris“ from Brooklyn, NY gain more fans and sell more tickets of their up-coming tour.

In August 2012 he also won the prestigious Scholarship for the part-time Executive MBA in Creative Leadership, for that Christian is dedicating his master thesis on the topic ‚How Digital, Social Media and Mobile will help redefine the Future of City Marketing‘.

Christian also is a long-time teacher and speaker at the Miami Ad School/USA/Europe/ Australia, where he serves on the Board of Directors and gives seminars like the „Digital Reboot Camp“ or teaches courses like „Pop Cultural Engineering“ working closely with companies from the industry, teaching the students how to question the existing traditional business models and help re-invent today‘s diverse range of industries.

Bio

Prior to his current role as Executive Creative Director, Christian was working at creative Hot-shops like Crispin, Porter+Bogusky, where he was working on brands like Volkswagen, Best Buy and Activision. He was also part of the team working on Best Buy‘s „Twelpforce“ that won the Titanium Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions Festival in 2010.

Before his agency life Christian used to work as a Marketing Manager for artists at entertainment companies like Sony Music and Warner Music. Under Christian’s creative supervision the band „Brooklyn Bounce“ became Sony Music/Germany’s most successful domestic artist in 2001 for which he received a Golden Record (Goldene Schallplatte). One year later Christian became Head of Marketing at Warner Music/Wea, Germany.

But when the music industry’s downturn started, he decided to switch to another industry supported by a Miami Ad School scholarship that he won. After he graduated, Christian worked for two and a half years at Jung von Matt, one of the most creative hot-shops in Germany on clients like Mercedes Benz. Then in 2008 he started his journey abroad that gave him the chance to work at influential places like Crispin, Porter + Bogusky and R/GA and finally brought him and his wife to Razorfish in Sydney where he is leading the office as Executive Creative Director.
